March of Dimes March for Babies Communications Event 2015 |

It is time again for the March of Dimes March for Babies amateur radio communications event. The event will happen on Saturday 25 April. The event location will again be in downtown San Jose with the start/stop location at Cesar Chavez Plaza. The route will be different due to some requests for less city streets and more appealing scenery. As last year, we will be there no later than 7:30am and it will go until about noon. We will have positions available for waterstops, checkpoints, bicycle, shadow, mobile, and net control. The preliminary positions are listed below. Some checkpoints and/or waterstops may be added later. Positions can be requested, but, final positions will be assigned by the event coordinator. Lunch is normally provided as well as some sort of breakfast foods.
One of the main reasons for coordinating this event is to train people in a non-emergency situation. If you know anyone who is a new ham that would like to volunteer, please forward this email to him or her and tell them that no experience is necessary. If you would like to volunteer, please reply to this email or call me at the number listed below. Feel free to pass on my number and email address to anyone else who may want to join us. Your continued help is appreciated by me and the March of Dimes team.
Please note this is not a MAC event and support is not being requested by any city. No MAC evaluations or credit will be available for working this event. If you want to work the event, you are working it purely for the health and welfare of the March of Dimes event participants.
