The 57th annual Los Gatos Children’s Christmas Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday 7th of December. Down town Los Gatos.The parade starts at 11:00 AM.

Again this year the Los Gatos Lions Club has asked the Los Gatos ARES group to assist in the parade.

This is a low key low stress way to help out our community and put a smile on all of us “kids”.

We would like to field a team of at least 12 ARES Ham operators for this event. We will need a couple of “shadows”, a couple of “roamers”, 6 stationary operators and 3 to 4 relief operators.

You will need a “hand held radio (5 w output & spare battery). A better antenna than the “rubber ducky”, and a “speaker-mike” is nice. Wear your ARES vest and dress in layers (it is cold in the morning but may warm up and is a rain or shine event).

The streets are closed at 9:00 AM so be there early. The Net Control station will be at the "walk-way" between 116 North Santa Cruz Ave. (Maria's Alterations) and 120 North Santa Cruz Ave. (now closed GAP store).

The "walk-way" is on the east side of North Santa Cruz Ave. and leads to Parking Lot #4 which is between Elm St. and Gray's Ln. Parking Lot #4 is a two level lot with parking below ground and street level.

We will gather at the Net Control location at 10:00 AM for DSW swearing in and last minute information and assignments.

This new Net Control location is more centrally located along the parade route.

Have your radios programed for the following frequencies:

Resource and talk-in frequency will be W6PIY 2 meter repeater: 147.390 MHz, + offset, PL of 151.4 Hz. (I hope to have it operational by 9:00 AM.

Primary Simplex frequency is: 147.480 MHz (Los Gatos Tac)

Secondary simplex frequency is: 146.595 MHz. (Los Gatos Tac & CERT )
