|||
Date: 05/19/12 | Start: 6:45 AM | End: 5:30 PM | Location: Santa Teresa County Park |
Credential Credit (What's this?): No |
On Saturday, May 19, the Bay Area Ridge Trail organization, Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, and Santa Clara County Parks will host the South Bay Ridge Ramble. We are looking for communications volunteers to staff a half dozen staging/check points and aid stations along the various hiking, mountain bike, and equestrian event routes. The routes are located mostly in/around Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve, Almaden Quicksilver County Park, and Santa Teresa County Park. An event description can be found here:

This is an all day event (~6:45A-5:30P). Some split shifts will be available. Some of the aid stations close early after all the participants have gone by, so there are opportunities for just part of the morning as well.
A preliminary map of the locations can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/ridgeramble2012-stations
Each year, the participation has grown in Ridge Trail Council events, yet they remain fairly small in terms of total event participants; 100 to 200 are expected. It is a low-key event and good opportunity to support an organization that genuinely values the services ham radio provides. If you are available and can help (or know of someone else that can), please sign up here, or contact me by email:

Please provide your preferred email address along with your call sign, day and evening telephone numbers. Thanks.
Note, the "Participants" List below doesn't necessarily contain all the folks signed up; it's just the ones that have registered on this site. Once the event is complete, I can add the other participants to this list, for "credit" on training/participation.
