This event is open to any interested ham radio operator or CERT responder that would like to have some FUN in a Search and Locate exercise.  County MAC/MIT participants will get some drill work too.

Please read all of this description.

Scenario: SCC ARES/RACES has been asked to provide and coordinate responders to assist a local agency in finding some lost items in a park.  Some items may be found visually, some items only by radio direction finding (RDF) techniques. (NOTE: There is no requirement for RDF capability in order to participate in the exercise drill.)

FUN Part: Participants will be organized into field teams of two to three people. At least one will be an ham radio operator (to maintain communications with Net Control).  Teams will be asked to canvas the park looking for the lost items.  A special park MAP will be provided and used to report grid-based locations.

DRILL Part:  SCC MACs/MITs are to follow country procedures for this event (ResourceNet mob/demob, all forms, procedures, equipment, etc. in order to get drill credit).  Stuck microphone scenarios may appear,  Net Control may perform frequency change exercises, and more.
