July 4th Safety Watch - Palo Alto |
|||
| Date: 07/04/26 | Start: 4:00 PM | End: 10:00 PM | Location: Palo Alto and foothills |
| Credential Credit (What's this?): Yes | |||
Operators will be deployed on high points in the city and foothills. They will look for illegal fireorks, wildfires, and traspassers. Operators are observers only and will report what they see to Palo Alto OES.
Net Control will operate from the Palo Alto Emergency Service Volunteers Division Operating Center (ESV DOC). Because of the restricted access, only qualified Palo Alto operators can be net control.
There are two shifts, 1600-1900 and 1900-2200. The second shift has to pack up in the dark, but there are often lovely sunsets.
Operators coming from some distance outside of Palo Alto are encouraged to sign up for the first shift so the resource net can close in a timely manner at the end of the event.
Operators will be stationed at two locations in Foothills Park, Vista Hill and Fire Station 8, plus a location near Monte Bellow Open Space. We also have an operator at Channing House in downtown Palo Alto.
Detailed information and assignements will be sent out before July 4th.
