This radio exercise is designed to evaluate the capability of handheld radios to communicate with the Morgan Hill EOC from high-risk fire perimeter areas during a simulated wildfire evacuation. Our objective is to ensure coverage in remote areas where cellular service may fail.
The goal is to identify which simplex and repeater channels are effective in each location to support the development of a City frequency communications plan for fire evacuations. During the exercise, we will test ​simplex and local repeaters from each identified high-risk area.
