This is a great opportunity for new radio operators to get experience in a low key setting!
Morgan Hill will deploy 3 fireworks patrols to watch and report observed fireworks in designated neighborhoods. Each patrol will be a combined CERT and amateur radio pair. Each patrol will be provided a LED attention getting flashing beacon and magnetic door signs for their vehicle. The focus is be visible and to report observations. In past years the apperance of the watch patrols has suppressed just about all fireworks activity keeping our hillside communities fire safe.
This exercise will provide practice for windshield assessments and field communications.
The following positions are available for this event. You can state your preference when you sign up for the event. The event coordinator will attempt to accommodate your request. Based on the event and its requirements, the event coordinator may move hams to positions other than those requested.
