San Jose RACES along with organizations accross the bay area will be participating in the Golden Eagle 2024 full-scale exercise.
San Jose RACES part in the exercise will be to provide additional communication channels via WEN and amateur radio between a CPOD (community points of distribution) field site and a DOC (disaster operations center) field site. Both sides are planned to be setup in Emma Prusch Farm Park (https://maps.app.goo.gl/GbyA5dxXZrSa2JgE7)
While other players (ex. CERT, PD, DOT, etc...) will have specific duties and objectives at each, San Jose RACES will be demonstrating the following capabilities and more
- Setup, and demonstration of WEN connectivity between the CPOD and DOC.
- Demonstration of WEN VOIP, internet hotspot, and document capture/printing capabilities
- Domonstration of amateur radio message passing capabilities between the sites
