New to the San Jose ARES/RACES/ACS team? A seasoned veteran in need of a refresher on SJ RACES practices and procedures? Then the N-M-O is for you!
Please join us at the SJ RACES "New Members Orientation" and learn:
- What ARES, RACES, and ACS are, how they're related, and how they differ
- Basic Emergency Communications radio skills
- How the SJ RACES team will respond during an emergency
- What you need to do to make yourself ready to respond to an activation
- About the various assignments you may be asked to perform
- About advanced training available to you
This class is a requirement for team members interested in earning their SJ RACES Responder status and the accompanying "Yellow Shirt" uniform!
