This is the monthly Monthly Training Net held on the third Tuesday of each month.
The training net will be be held on the Resource Net Repeaters (AA6BT 146.115, N6NAC 444.625, and W6ASH 145.270) which will be linked for the net.
The activities of this net will vary from month to month, providing practice in a range of skills and techniques. The difficulty of the exercises may vary from month to month, depending on the activity, and many months there will be opportunities for multiple levels of expertise. Read the job descriptions for the positions each month.
This month we will be simulating an event Resource Net, tracking operators while they travel to an event, and handing off the Net Control position from one operator to another.
Expected Difficulty: Medium
The first net controller will open the net, take check-ins from the travellers, do health and welfare checks, then transfer the net to the second net controller. After participating in the transfer, the second net controller will do health and wefare checks, take check-outs from the travellers, and then close the net. Travellers will check into the net, respond to health and wefare checks, including the transfer from one net controller to another, and check out of the net.
Net controllers will want to review slides 29-36 of the Net Control Type III, Part B class. Both net controllers and travellers should review slides 47-57 from this class.
Net controllers will need to have a blank copy of the ICS-309 form. Travellers should have a copy of the ICS-214 form to practice recording their departure and arrival information and times.
The following positions are available for this event. You can state your preference when you sign up for the event. The event coordinator will attempt to accommodate your request. Based on the event and its requirements, the event coordinator may move hams to positions other than those requested.
