Background
The Training Coordinator is a member of the Santa Clara County ARES/RACES leadership team. He or she reports to the DEC/CRO and works as a team with the other ADECs/DCROs to support the goals and objectives of the organization.
The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning and overseeing the execution of the training program.

- Holds a County DSW and a MAC Endorsement (Background Check).
- Holds several advanced Credentials and has a good understanding of the CPH and how the training program supports the credentialing of radio operators.

Duties and Expectations
- Create a yearly calendar of training classes and events by October of the previous year.
- Coordinate with assigned instructors, other ADECs, and the CRO on class and event dates.
- After the calendar is approved, post the sign-up pages on the website for all classes, meetings, and events.
- Update and add sign-up pages as needed throughout the year.
- Reserve classrooms well in advance: about 5-6 months in advance for the Sheriff’s Auditorium and the
Sunnyvale DPS training rooms.
- Work with County OEM for Sheriff’s Office or EOC use.
- Work with Sunnyvale DPS for any of the Sunnyvale classrooms (old and new classrooms, and Fire Station 5).
- Before each class held at Sunnyvale DPS, verify that there is a designated host to open the room and check-in participants.
- After each class, record participation on the website and remind participants via email if their class evaluation is missing.
- Hold a Master copy of current and past versions of all classroom slides, and related training material.
- Manage the quarterly message passing practice to verify a host is available and that practice meessages have been provided for posting to the website a minimum of one-week before the scheduled date.
- Identify potential classroom instructors and participate in their vetting process.
- Respond to emails addressed to the Training Coordinator, answer questions or providing guidance as needed. Refer questions you cannot answer to the appropriate person and make sure that a response is provided.
