The Ham Radio Class To Take After You Get Your License
|
Introduction to Amateur Radio
and Emergency Communications
This class assumes you have just received your license and have lots of questions about terms used, operating protocol, the different ham bands, setting up your radio to access a repeater. (If you don’t know what a repeater is – don’t worry. You’ll learn it in the class.) You will learn how to participate in a directed net and handle emergency radio traffic. The class is both lecture and hands-on exercises. It is not designed to help you pass any ham radio test. Bring your radio (and instruction manual), if you have one. If you don’t have them, come anyway. We’ll have one you can use. Everyone Welcome – we ask for $4.00 to cover duplicating handouts
